Silica is soft to the touch, white in appearance, but almost invisible on the skin. It is a marvelous filler, used in concentrations of 5-15%. It will assist in binding and blending minerals to each other, as well as adding softness and slip to your finshed product. Because it is a spherical pigment, it helps to hide imperfections when used in foundation formulas. Silica has mattifying properties and is ideal for use in television and film as a setting powder to reduce shine.
