Monave started when I created my own mineral foundation. This was after a year of struggling and scraping and digging for information, before Youtube and tutorials, and transparency. This was before companies were selling small sized bags of natural mineral pigments. I met closed doors and talked to tight-lipped chemists who were bound by contract not to discuss techniques or formulas with me. I kept knocking and I kept digging, because I believed, deep in my heart, I was CONVINCED, that natural makeup shouldn’t just be the domain of high-end spas, and exclusive medical offices. I was convinced that it’s every woman’s birthright to have healthy, natural products, and that it was my mission to make this happen. Over the span of a year, I slowly gathered information and started making custom foundation for women visiting Baltimore’s Harborplace where my kiosk was located. I’d sit with my dishes of pigments, and my coffee grinder, and mix, and blend until I had finally figured out how to create wearable, believable shades for the full palette of beautiful complexions who visited my kiosk. I was disturbed by their stories of having to make their own complicated blends, because the mainstream industry had completely and totally ignored their needs. It became part of my mission to make sure that EVERY WOMAN WAS SEEN, and HONORED. Does this resonate with you? Have you always wanted to make foundation for yourself, your family, or your customers? Or do you just want to demystify it, just like I did, so many years ago?
Then this DIY natural foundation class is for you. I am practically GIVING AWAY my knowledge. This proprietary information, back when I began, was worth millions of dollars. I decided to compete with the large corporations who didn’t want small companies like mine to be able to make our own unique brand of healthy makeup. Now, you can watch Youtube, and get a good feel for how to do it. It’s all so much easier, since we opened those doors. I’m here to help on your journey. There will be a live chat, so you can ask questions during the class. The goal is for you to touch the pigments, ask questions, make products together, make a mess together, and for us to talk about things like:
how to make the texture you or your customers want
how to get the coverage your looking for
how to make shades for many different complexions
what to look for when shopping for natural pigments
FDA regulations and how they affect you
how to create setting powders to go with you products
and MUCH MORE!
The great thing is that your finished loose mineral foundation powder can be mixed into creams to make your own liquid foundation, or pressed for a portable option.
